The Oregon National Guard gave a presentation to Pioneer
Elementary students about the Lewis and Clark Expedition of
1803-1806. Their presentation included period reproductions of
items that Lewis and Clark would have taken with them or would have
encountered on their explorations. Students learned all about
the history of the Lewis and Clark expedition and were allowed to
examine items associated with that period such as a grizzly bear paw
prints, uniform coats and hats, a sextant, and all kinds of animal
furs. Students enjoyed this hands-on presentation and thank
the Oregon National Guard for visiting their school. |
